Terms & Conditions

Last updated: November 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all services provided by Ridgeback Outdoor Solutions ("Ridgeback," "we," "us," or "our") to customers ("you" or "Client") in SW Missouri, NW Arkansas, and surrounding service areas. By accepting a written estimate, paying a deposit, or allowing work to commence on your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services

Ridgeback Outdoor Solutions provides custom deck construction, outdoor living space installation, Oelo permanent architectural lighting installation, integrated deck and landscape lighting, and related outdoor improvement services. All services are performed by our dedicated team of workers under the supervision of the company owner.

Ridgeback is an exclusive authorized dealer and installer of Oelo permanent lighting products in our service area. Installation performed by Ridgeback is required to maintain manufacturer warranty coverage.

3. Estimates & Proposals

All work is performed under a written, itemized estimate ("Proposal") provided to the Client prior to commencement. Ridgeback bids each job and meets each bid — the Proposal represents the total cost of services as scoped.

  • Proposals are valid for 14 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
  • Acceptance of a Proposal constitutes agreement to these Terms in full.
  • Labor is billed at approximately $1,500 per day plus the cost of materials as itemized in the Proposal.
  • Any scope changes requested by the Client after Proposal acceptance will be documented in a written change order and must be approved by both parties before additional work proceeds.
  • Ridgeback will not perform work outside the agreed scope without a signed change order. No verbal authorizations will be honored for scope changes.

4. Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A deposit is required to secure your scheduled start date. The deposit amount will be stated on your Proposal. Work will not be scheduled until the deposit is received.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due upon completion of the project, prior to or at the time of final walkthrough.
  • Accepted forms of payment: Credit card, bank transfer, check, or cash. Payment by credit card may be subject to a processing fee as disclosed at time of payment.
  • Late payments: Balances unpaid more than 10 days after project completion may be subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance.
  • Ridgeback reserves the right to suspend or cease work on any project with an outstanding past-due balance.

5. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Ridgeback understands that plans change. Our policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations 10 or more days before the scheduled start date: The Client will receive a full 100% refund of all deposits paid.
  • Cancellations within 10 days of the scheduled start date: Deposits are non-refundable. However, the Client may reschedule the project to a new start date up to 90 calendar days from the original scheduled date. Rescheduled projects retain their deposit; no additional deposit is required.
  • Cancellations after work has commenced: The Client will be invoiced for all labor performed and materials procured or delivered to the job site as of the cancellation date. Any deposit amounts exceeding this total will be refunded.
  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing (email is acceptable) to receive confirmation.

6. Warranty

6.1 Installation Warranty

Ridgeback warrants all installation workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of project completion. This warranty covers defects in installation that arise under normal use and are not caused by Client misuse, weather events beyond ordinary conditions, or modifications made by third parties.

6.2 Manufacturer Warranty — Oelo Lighting Products

Oelo permanent lighting products carry a five (5) year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty claims for Oelo products are subject to Oelo's terms and conditions. Ridgeback will assist Clients in submitting valid warranty claims during the coverage period.

6.3 Warranty Exclusions

Warranties do not cover damage caused by:

  • Acts of God, extreme weather events, or natural disasters
  • Client misuse, abuse, or negligence
  • Modifications or repairs performed by parties other than Ridgeback
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Settlement or movement of the underlying structure

7. Property Access & Site Conditions

  • The Client agrees to provide reasonable access to the property for all scheduled work, pre-job evaluations, and warranty visits.
  • Ridgeback will take reasonable precautions to protect the Client's property during work. We use heavy-equipment precision practices to minimize disruption to lawns, landscaping, and existing structures.
  • The Client is responsible for disclosing the locations of any underground utilities, irrigation systems, septic systems, or other subsurface features prior to work commencement. Ridgeback is not liable for damage to undisclosed subsurface utilities or systems.
  • A pre-job site evaluation by the company owner will be conducted prior to the start of each project.

8. Permits & Code Compliance

For projects requiring building permits, Ridgeback will advise the Client on permit requirements applicable to the project scope. Responsibility for permit application and associated fees will be specified in the Proposal. Ridgeback constructs all projects to applicable local building codes and standards. It is the Client's responsibility to inform Ridgeback of any HOA restrictions, easements, or property-specific covenants that may affect the project.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ridgeback's total liability to the Client for any claim arising out of or related to services provided shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the specific project giving rise to the claim.

Ridgeback is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of use, loss of income, or cost of temporary replacement services.

10. Insurance & Licensing

Ridgeback Outdoor Solutions maintains general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage as required by the State of Missouri. Certificates of insurance are available upon request. Ridgeback operates with all required state and local contractor licensing for our service area.

11. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute arising from services provided under these Terms, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith direct communication. If direct resolution is not achieved, the parties agree to pursue mediation before initiating any formal legal proceedings. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

Ridgeback reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. The Terms in effect at the time a Proposal is accepted govern that project in full.
